Corporate Responsibility

Our Enhancing Web: Commitment Scheme

We believe that everyone, be it a corporate entity or a person, should give back to the community. As such, we have decided to make our corporate responsibility be reflected through the Enhancing Web: Commitment Scheme.

Enhancing Web: Commitment Scheme

The Enhancing Web: Commitment Scheme dictates:

  1. We will strive to maintain the operation of a majority of our services and administration systems, on an open source platform, or operating system, or both.
  2. We will champion the advantages and features of open source solutions compared to proprietary closed-source solutions.
  3. We will offer free web hosting to select open-source based projects of particular interest, as well as blogs and mini-sites that are directly linked with open-source based projects, development on / for open source, and so on.
  4. We will mirror for free certain projects, such as less well-known distributions of Linux, or open source software, to actively show our support.
  5. We will host, develop, and implement, an assortment of network tools that do provide meaningful information regarding network performance metrics, and enhance consumer awareness.

Currently, we endorse, or participate in, the following projects:

Application to join our Enhancing Web: Commitment Scheme

Would you like to apply to join our Enhancing Web: Commitment Scheme? Good thinking. We’ll love to get you onboard. We will just need you to let us know a few details, first.

Go to our contact page, select “Administration” on the “Department” menu, and briefly describe what you would like to get from us. There are some points to consider, of course:

  • Your request must be directly linked to an open source project which could use a boost. This means that the project must be either small, or too new. Adding one more mirror to Fedora Linux, while commendable, makes less difference to the project as a whole, than a small project which needs all the help it can get.
  • Your request can be linked to a strong will  to inform the community of Internet users, instead. We will set up one or more tool(s) to assist you in spreading the knowledge of computer networks performance.
  • Your request must not be related to a commercial project, or company, of any sort, or violate EU laws in any way.
  • If your request is granted, we will donate you as much webspace and bandwidth, or support personnel administration time, as needed for you to be happy. We will also make a subdomain for you, to use in your mirror / website / tools page. The only thing we will want in return, is a link and / or a logo banner pointing to our website. Other than that, you will never be charged or forced into paying anything to us or any external partners of ours.

We are eagerly awaiting for your ideas and feedback on how to make our scheme even better, so, feel free to contact us at any given time!
